Police said a drifter they’d long suspected abducted and killed 6-year-old Adam Walsh in 1981. Ottis Toole, a pedophile and convicted killer, died in prison in 1996. The case put missing children on the national agenda. The boy’s father, John Walsh, went on to become host of TV’s “America’s Most Wanted.”
